I offer confidential coaching for founders, leaders and professionals who want to achieve long term sustainable behaviour change so that they achieve their full potential, for themselves, their teams, their organisations and for all those around them that matter, in work and life.
I'm a senior HR Leader with 25 years successful industry experience gained in award-winning people teams, in both the private and not-for-profit sector, spanning FTSE100 Plc.'s, SMEs and start ups of different size and sophistication. My particular expertise is in developing leadership capability, building high performing teams, strategic business partnering, managing complex change and employee relations.
The vast majority of my career has been built around partnering people, working alongside experienced senior leaders and their teams, new promotes, high potentials, founders and entrepreneurs, as their strategic thinking partner, trusted advisor and critical friend. I have a breadth of cross-sector experience and have worked with leaders and high achievers in finance, retail, technology, professional services, biotechnology and not-for-profit charitable and third sector organisations.
It's important to me to build deep and human connections creating a safe and confidential space where people can do their best thinking. I particularly love working one to one with individuals, helping them to unpack problems and experiences so they can move forwards feeling resourced, capable, and supported. I provide an objective lens to expand their view of the current situation, combining candour and constructive challenge with compassion and high support. Awareness of well-being informs my approach and is essential if you are serious about playing - and staying - the long game.
My own career hasn't always been a straight line, and I know first hand that life and work can at times be emotional. There have been times when I've felt caught in indecision between career or kids, health or wealth, and felt bound to make either/or choices with a personal or professional cost. Life can sometimes throw you lemons and when you add work and relationships into the mix, it can take its toll.
My experience makes me uniquely equipped to support you and your thinking. There isn't much in work or life I haven't seen, done (or bought the t-shirt). You can trust that you will be understood, and that you will be seen and heard, supported and constructively challenged, without judgement. As your coach, I get it.
In 2023, I became a qualified accredited coach at Practitioner Level. I am accredited with the European Mentoring & Coaching Council and comply with the EMCC Global Code of Ethics which includes undertaking regular, formal supervision. I'm a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development and hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resource Management. I also have a BA (Hons) Degree in English and Translated Literature.
You are unique and my approach to coaching you will always vary depending on your specific needs and preferences. I work in partnership with you from the start so that together we co-create a coaching program which is bespoke to you.
Working together, we will clarify where you are now and where you want to be, identify and overcome obstacles, and create a tailored plan to help you achieve your desired goal(s) or outcome(s).
I take an holistic, collaborative and deeply human approach and I coach you the 'person', not the 'problem'.
I help you expand your view of you, so you understand how you show up, peel back the layers to reveal any blind spots, and close any gaps.
Sustainable change and goal attainment becomes possible when it's done in alignment with your values and unique strengths and when your wellbeing is ignited and maintained, and these will be the foundations from which we'll build.
Coaching is generally forward looking and future focussed, although we may spend some time exploring your experience, your values, and any potentially limiting beliefs, where it's helpful to do so.
Drawing upon a range of coaching models and tools, I use questions, share observations, feedback, and patterns. I listen and hold space for you to do your best thinking and really be.
I will provide support and constructive challenge in an environment where you feel completely accepted, valued, capable and resourced in a relationship of trust and confidence, so that you are able to make the progress you are willing, ready and able to make.
Coaching is non-directive. This means we will always be led by your agenda. I also won't tell you what to do.
One client (somewhat wryly) told me that my superpower is '...an uncanny knack of getting underneath it all and shining a light on what's really going on'.
Other clients tell me they find me insightful, calm, kind and safe.
I will always meet you where you are at with warmth, compassion, candour and humanity, occasionally with a good sprinkle of humour where it serves you.

I've succeeded in permanently changing my ways of working which has resulted in a better way to understand and manage my workload (and resolve the anxiety related to this). I now also have the tools to help me continue to make progress going forwards.
I had recently been promoted to a bigger role, and gone from managing a team of 14 to over 40. My goal was to get a greater understanding of what sort of leader I was or could become. Coaching with Fiona has brought me to a place where I now recognise my own leadership style and strengths. Things I'd also previously perceived as weaknesses I now see as my humanity.
Fiona enabled us to arrive at a shared understanding of the challenges experienced working together and a much better understanding of how to relate to each other's different styles and expectations. We just could not have got to this point without the sophisticated emotional intelligence and relational skills Fiona brought to this process.
I feel more empowered and confident to move forwards with my career and I've gained incredibly useful insights which have really helped to build my confidence.
